I am currently a Research Associate in the Information Retrieval Group at the University of Sheffield and mainly working on an EU FP6 project - TRIPOD. My research interests include multimedia information retrieval, human computer interaction, natural language processing and machine learning.

I graduated with a PhD degree from University of Science and Technology of China. During the period of study for PhD, I worked as a research intern in Web Search and Mining Group of Microsoft Research Asia from 2002 to 2005 and visited the Interactive Communication Media and Contents Group of NICT, Japan as an embedded researcher from 2005 to 2006.
