My main research interests are in the area of Human Computer Interaction (HCI), with a focus on developing computational models of human behaviour. These models can then be employed to enable computers to understand and generate information in forms that are more natural to humans. In previous work in the Tripod project (http://tripod.sheffield.ac.uk) I worked on developing computational models of spatial prepositions to enable the interpretation and generation of human-style spatial natural language (http://gis.cs.cardiff.ac.uk/geoserv/). Currently I am working on the PATHS project (http://www.paths-project.eu) looking at a range of topics in the area of digital cultural-heritage including automatically generating topic hierarchies, providing overview descriptions, and exploration-enabling user-interfaces. I have also worked in the area of automatic data-integration for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the HarmonISA project (http://harmonisa.uni-klu.ac.at).
